If you ad to read a very advanced version of the Bhagavad Gita you would probably trip up a lot. It would be like reading something writing for PH. D's while still a sophomore. Personally I've only seen one such book. This particular book is a good introduction to the Bhagavad Gita, illustrating many concepts. Remember when looking at these books they basically range from nearly the 6th grade level on up.

A beautiful Bhagavad Gita translation coupled with excellent appendices (including the Mahabharata well summarized in four pages) and a chart of spiritual anatomy. The book itself is also very beautifully bound.

Very enjoyable and enlightening book.

I wanted to get a deeper understanding of the Hindu faith. This has been easy to read, with both poetry and prose.I've enjoyed reading it very much.

My translation of choice for the Gita. The Aldous Huxley introduction is gravy. A great beginning step into Vedanta or to simply expand your mind/spirit.

It makes an ideal read for anyone who has gone through multiple commentaries and would want to internailize the essence of Bhagavad Gita. No doubt, tremondous work must have gone into this book.

I loved this translation of the Gita. The book is mostly translated in novel form (paragraphs). However some of the passages read like poems do with metered lines. There are handy notes here and there to define things for unfamiliar readers (for example it defines Govinda, mantram, pakriti, etc). I thoroughly enjoyed reading this translation. I highly recommend this for first-time readers.
