This is the 'go to' for a lot of diabetics. It doesn't have protein or fiber amounts, but it's nice for on the run, or figuring insulin for insulin:carb doses. I keep the regular size print in my purse, and the large size near my insulin and medication area.
I like the Calorie, Fat and Carb Counter book. I prefer having a paper copy of calorie counts, etc so I can browse through it before shopping. It seems easier than browsing online. This one also has color photos of the foods. It's a good book. I got the larger print and I like that.
I bought the small and large print version of this book. It has a lot of information in it besides just calories. I like it very much.
A friend had loaned me her copy of an older version of this handy guide, and it helped me with deciding what foods were lower in carbs (even fast foods from restaurants), so without any hesitation, I purchased my own book... and I was delighted to find the latest version in a larger print😳.
I ordered this book because I needed to lose weight and I am so glad I did! This book helped me see how much I was really eating calorie, fat, and carb wise. It really put my eating into perspective. I didn't think I was eating all that much, but after checking out the fat, carbs and calories of the foods I normally eat I found that I was missing the mark by a long shot! I started keeping a food diary of everything I ate and the calories, fat, and carbs ( this book is great). This book has dietary data on hundreds of restaurants and meals served so you can chose from the lighter fare when dining out and still keep your diet on track. It also has other important diet tips and useful information for health conscious people. I also bought a copy for a neighbor who is watching her weight. I very highly recommend this book!
Not great, but adequate. Difficult to search, not much info per listing. More info on name brand items as opposed to food for ingredients for home cooked dishes. So not real practical for the home dietician coming up with their own diet or personalized recipes.
I have used this food diary for 15 months, and lost 80 pounds by eating regular food, not diet food. I don't deprive myself, I was unable to exercise for 6 months of that time due to the need for a hip replacement, and then from rehab after the surgery. The doctor says I am losing the weight the absolute best way: slowly, and should lose no more than 20 pounds now. I like the making of goals, keeping track of water I drink, logging my weight, my measurements, my daily calories and my weekly total. The large print gives room for more writing, and has a really nice spiral binder.
This book is great if you count fat grams & calories. I have used it plus 150+ minutes of exercise a week. I have slowly but steadily lost about 30 pounds. It lists fast food places food items besides everyday foods I eat @ home. I recommend once you see how much fat is in the foods, you will want to eat differently. I did!! Now I make such better choices. This book if used daily @ each meal it can make a big difference in your life it did mine. No longer stay in the dark about how much fat is in your favorite foods. I have learned to bank my fat & calories for special foods on occasion.
