DC Comics has decided to release the best of Looney Tunes comics chronologically from the start of their era (90's). Which is good, because not all of the comics from DC era were too great. Especially in the early years. These stories have art Pablo Zamboni, Horacio & Oscar Saavedra, Neal Sternecky, and Omar Aranda. Sternecky's art reminds me of Walt Kelly (Pogo), The Saaverda Brothers(?) Cousins(?) provide a pretty clean cut desgins, while Zamboni's is sometimes messy, and Aranda's is well, ugly. These stories are written Terry Collins, Bill Matheny, Michael Eury, Allison Heartinger, Dave King, and Sternecky. Sadly, we haven't reached to stories written by Earl Kress nor is there any art by Dave Alvarez (who both really drove these comics) but these stories are still fun and exciting to read. Here's a rundown of the comics;"The Envelope, Please"- Daffy strives to win a well deserved award."Sidekicked"- Daffy plays stooge to a baby kangaroo."Inherit the Windbag"- Porky adopts Charlie in an attempt to get 1 Million Dollars."Agent Daffy"- A parody of 'Austin Powers'."Cat Commando"- Sylvester wages war on Tweety. Literally."Fishing Fool!"- Wile E. goes Road Runner fishing."The Skunk Who Loved Me"- Pepe interupts a movie set to make love to Peneople."The Trouble With Mars"- After a long hiatus, Daffy becomes Duck Dodgers again to fight Marvin."A Full Head of Hare"- Elmer quits hunting to grow his hair."Barnyard Gladiators"- Foghorn and another rooster compete to win Miss Prissy's "affections"."One Life Left to Live"- Sylvester goes through his nine lives at a meditation center (I particurally did not enjoy this one, Sylvester "dies" over and over)"Slap-Happy New Year"- Wile E. resolves to stop chasing The Road Runner "Sufferin' Satellites"- Porky takes Sylvester on a cable repair job."Hare-ied by the Mob"- Mugsy moves in with Bugs. This collection also features a cover gallery, but that's it. DC Comics have already have a plan to release a second volume, and it might take a few of them to reach the peak of Looney Tunes/DC era.
