Glancing through the chapters I can tell that it's going to be so much better than other chemistry books I've used so far. The explanations are so clear and easy to understand, really! Kind of makes you wonder why other textbooks are so ambiguous. I'm starting at a university this fall and this is the textbook they're using for general chemistry. I took 2nd semester gen chem at a community college that used a horrible textbook (the ambiguous one I mentioned). Having compared the two books, I still have the other one, I can say that I'm actually looking forward to taking chemistry. To be honest, I like chemistry, but the other textbook *cough Tro cough* made chemistry unbearable. I'm going to visit the chemistry department chair at my former community college and suggest they use this book instead.

Lower priced alternative to the hardcover version if your are required to buy the book. Unfortunately, my class had reading quizzed that had identified certain page numbers from the hardcover that didn't match up so I had to return. The book is well written in most chapters but fails to fully explain certain key concepts and expects you to be a master at stoichiometry by the first practice problem. Luckily, additional help can be found on the internet or YouTube.

It is advertised to come with a MasteringChemistry access code, however, said code was nowhere to be found when I opened my package. I would just buy the regular chemistry book without the access code and buy the code separate from MasteringChemistry

didn't come with the mastering chemistry access code

The book came quickly and in good condition. I used the 6th edition and enjoyed learning from it, the 7th is quite similar with the exception of more added problems and a little more detail added to the text. Definitely love learning from this book, everything is so clear with plenty of practice problems.

Its an alright book. Good amount of details in explaining things. However it seems like some of the questions at the end of each chapters aren't explained in the book, which lowers its rating. The older version (6th edition) seems better in my opinion.

I ordered this for my class at CSU, Chico. The text was up to date, and I knew exactly what I was ordering from the description. It was in a great condition, especially since it was available for rent. This book passed me through the class, don't know where I would be without it. Would definitely recommend for anyone in a General Chemistry class.

What else can I say, came in in perfect condition. but also its a chemistry book that I bought for a class that I really shouldn't need so not tooo excited
